Who We Hire:
AOR, Inc. hires highly motivated and self-directed employees with educational as well as practical experience and backgrounds in the mathematical and/or physical sciences. Successful candidates will have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the areas of operations research, applied mathematics, physics, acoustics, principles of oceanography or meteorology, and/or military science. Knowledge of and experience using scientific computing environments such as MATLAB or Mathematica, is also desired.
Work Environment:
AOR, Inc. is based in North Coastal San Diego County, close to the many cultural, recreational, and educational attractions Southern California has to offer. We offer an informal work environment with access to state-of-the-art scientific and computational resources.
Salary and Reviews:
- AOR Inc. employees are compensated on an hourly basis, with hourly rates established based on relevant published Salary Survey data.
- AOR Inc. employees are compensated for authorized overtime hours worked.
- AOR Inc. employees receive yearly written and verbal performance reviews on the anniversary of their employment start date. Salary adjustments are made at this time based on employee performance during the previous year and salary survey data updates.
Benefits:
AOR, Inc., a company incorporated in the State of California in July 2006, provides the following compensation and benefits plan for professional employees:
- AOR Inc. employees receive yearly cash bonuses. For FY-09/10, AOR Inc. has budgeted bonuses averaging 5% of salary.
AOR Inc. employees receive retirement plan distributions. For FY-09/10, AOR Inc. has budgeted for profit sharing contributions for each employee averaging 10% of salary. AOR Inc. A guaranteed 4% 401(k) Safe Harbor matching contribution (traditional or Roth) in addition to a discretionary 6% profit sharing contribution make up the 10% retirement plan budget.
- AOR Inc. employees are provided health, dental, long-term disability, and vision insurance at no cost to the employee.
- AOR, Inc. employees are allocated three weeks of vacation leave, one week of personal leave, and ten paid holidays per year. After five years of service, vacation leave is increased from three to four weeks per year.
- AOR, Inc. employees have access to an onsite health and fitness club.
Future Benefits:
Since AOR Inc. is a relatively new company, some of our benefit plans are still in the process of being defined and implemented. These include:
- Employee Stock Option Plan - AOR Inc. management is committed to creating an employee stock option plan that will result in significant employee ownership of AOR Inc. stock.
- Educational Reimbursement Plan - AOR Inc. is also committed to establishing an employee educational reimbursement plan for relevant studies at an accredited college or university.
